Vivian Jarrett – B Psych (Hons), MAPS, MAICD, is a registered Brisbane Psychologist who has been providing counselling to women for the past 10 years in Brisbane. Vivian is mother to two adult children and comes from a large family.
Vivian has worked in two large National Medical and Health Research Grants at Griffith University in the School of Nursing and Midwifery. Vivian is the Clinic Director of Vision Psychology Mt Gravatt, and M1 Psychology Loganholme. In addition to providing psychology services, Vivian is currently undertaking a postgraduate business/law course.
Apart from her extensive research experience, Vivian has worked in many training settings. Vivian has completed the supervisor’s training program for psychologists, she has presented at several psychiatry/midwifery conferences and published 3 papers in international journals since 2003. Vivian has also been involved in facilitating psychiatric registrar training in bipolar and schizophrenia at the PA hospital for several years. Apart from teaching roles in psychiatry, Vivian has presented to undergradute students at Griffith University on Interpersonal Therapy, postgraduate clinical masters students on mental illness identity and the Australian College of Counselling Psychologists on Therapist’s perception of mental illness. Many of her presentations stem from her postgraduate research into the impact of mental illness identity on the self-perception, intelligence and counselling for postnatal depression, anxiety and trauma in perinatal women.
Vivian has a passion for seeing women access quality counselling services by experts in the field of counselling and provides counselling face to face in Brisbane and by phone consultation if you live outside the Brisbane area.
